Job Description
  • The Mathematics Placement Exam (MPE) is a 90-minute, 60-item multiple choice exam that tests skills and understandings from precalculus mathematics. It is designed to measure readiness for college courses in calculus and precalculus. Online, you may view an individual report that includes placement level and a list of topics that should be reviewed before the class begins.

The test scores are entered in the student registration system to allow you to register for a math class throughWebReg. Test results are valid for one calendar year. After waiting at least one month you may repeat the test after studying the topics listed on your placement results. The last placement level will replace previous test results.

If your enrollment in a math course hinges on your test score, take the test as early as possible. This allows you time to review the suggested topics and even retake the test after studying, if you wish.
